A graded stallion with super temperament, power and agility; Cristobal 21 is a big-hearted horse who always tries his best. Cristobal has competed internationally up to 1m60 and achieved numerous top 5 placings up to 5* level.
Cristobal’s sire, Holstein stallion Cristo, is held in high esteem and was himself sired by a stallion widely regarded as a legend of modern horse breeding – Contender, who has more than 60 approved sons and was one of the world’s top 100 showjumping sires for a decade. The concentration of jumping genes continues as the dam sire, Carthago earned a 9.5 for free jumping and a 10 for jumping talent at his performance test. He finished in 11th place at the Atlanta Games with Jos Lansink and the pair were members of the Dutch team at the Sydney Games. In all the combination competed in 15 Nations Cups.
Cristobal’s dam sire, Baldini, is the father of the world famous Bella Donna from Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum, who consistently achieved top five placing in Grand Prix throughout 2012/13.
His grandmother, Duerte, produced Sandro, who enjoyed a highly successful showjumping career with Franke Sloothaak when he moved to Paul Schockemöhle’s stud, notching up high career winnings.
Sandro is the sire of more than 40 listed sons, including Sandro Boy, who won the World Cup final with Marcus Ehning in 2006. Three of his other progeny, Sandro Song, Safari and Paradiso, competed in the 1994 World Equestrian Games, in the Netherlands.
