A beautiful modern showjumper, Count Codex is powerful and extremely intelligent with a big stride and perfect conformation. He achieved a premium grade at his stallion licensing test in Hannover and has represented himself well throughout this career to date.
The proven combination of his sire Contendro I and his dam sire Gluckspilz have brought high-calibre horses such as Codex One to the sport who took the international jumper scene by storm in 2010 placing second at the CSI4* Indoor Grossen Preis von Frankfurt a.M. He also placed 2nd in the Grossen Preis von Nörten-Hardenberg CSI3* and then won the masters Leuge Final at the 2011 CSI4* Grossen Preis von Frankfurt a.M. In 2012 he was 3rd in the St.Gallen CSI05*, and then went double clear at the CHIO Aachen Nations Cup which lead him to represent Germany in the 2012 Olympic Games. His success continued in 2013 when he won a European Team Silver medal.
Contendro I is a world-class stallion, ranked 16th in the 2016 World Breeding Federation for Sport Horses for showjumping sires. His career highlights include being named Holstein premium stallion in 1999, winning the 2000 Adelheidsdorf stallion performance test, being placed in the 2001 Holstein Riding Horse Championships and being nominated for the Bundeschampionat. By the time he was 14, he had amassed a huge amount of competition winnings.
Count Codex’s dam sire Glückspilz is a striking, dark-brown Hanoverian stallion recognised for his remarkable jumping ability at his German stallion licensing. His incredible, fluid movement and elasticity are passed down to his offspring.
Count Codex has had consistent success at International Young Horse competitions.
